Ghana

Ghana was the first sub-Saharan African country to gain independence from colonial rule in 1957. The capital city of Ghana is Accra, which is also the largest city and serves as the economic and cultural hub of the country. Other major cities include Kumasi, Tamale, and Sekondi-Takoradi.

Ghana has a diverse population consisting of various ethnic groups, with the Akan, Mole-Dagbon, Ewe, and Ga-Dangme being some of the largest. The official language is English, but many Ghanaians also speak local languages such as Twi, Fante, and Ga.

The economy of Ghana is one of the most diversified and fastest-growing in Africa, with key industries including agriculture, mining, manufacturing, and services. It is the world’s second-largest producer of cocoa beans and a major exporter of gold and oil. Tourism also plays a significant role in the economy, with attractions such as the Cape Coast Castle, Kakum National Park, and Mole National Park drawing visitors from around the world.

Ghana has a stable democratic government and is known for its commitment to political stability and good governance. It is a member of several international organizations, including the United Nations, African Union, and Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).
