Who Does What and Why It Works Together

The Farm of the Future is a consortium of seven partners, each bringing something the others cannot.

reNature is leading the project: designing the agroforestry system, developing the model farm, training farmers and field officers, and running monitoring and evaluation.

Beyond Beans / ETG brings the farmer network. They have the existing relationships and supply chain reach to move from one model farm to 200. They lead financial inclusion through VSLAs and deliver Farming as a Business training.

Carboneers turns farm waste into verified carbon income. They design the biochar production system, deploy AI and drone monitoring, and run the MRV infrastructure that makes carbon credits credible.

SPAAK drives digitalisation and circular economy. They are preparing the Learning Centre, developing the digital curriculum, and exploring how farm residues can be processed into higher value outputs.

Maxim Nyansa delivers digital literacy on the ground, running the Farm of the Future bootcamp and training young people from Meduma in digital tools, entrepreneurship, and farm data management through a ToT model.

Groasis solves the water problem. Their Waterboxx technology enables tree establishment on degraded land without irrigation, increasing survival rates to 70-90% and making year-round planting possible.

TheRockGroup / Roze Bunker closes the loop, introducing decentralised processing of fruit and tuber residues into high value syrups and creating new local income streams.

How It Interlinks

The agroforestry system reNature designs generates the biomass Carboneers converts to biochar and carbon credits. The labour groups Beyond Beans coordinates implement the planting and pruning the design requires. The digital tools SPAAK and Maxim Nyansa deploy allow Carboneers to monitor and verify what is happening. The Waterboxx units Groasis installs improve survival rates for the trees reNature has specified. The residues TheRockGroup processes come from the same farm system everyone else is managing. Each intervention makes the others more effective.

RVO – the Netherlands Enterprise Agency funds the project, making it possible for this consortium to operate at the scale and duration needed for lasting change.
