Paula Costa is a Forest Engineer and Specialist in Environmental Management and Biology by UNESP, as well as a specialist and consultant in agroforestry systems and silviculture of native and exotic species, with over 10 years of experience in regenerative production systems. She has advanced knowledge in dendrology, botany and identification of native trees. She also worked in ATER at the Museu da Amazônia Developing forest restoration projects, environmental adaptation, direct planting of forest seeds, horticulture and agroforestry fruit production. She was coordinator of the research and extension group on agroforestry systems at ESALQ – USP and coordinated field logistics and the development of research and innovation in agroforestry production systems at Fazenda da Toca.
Valter Ziantoni is a Forest Engineer and Designer in Agroforestry specialized in Management and International Relations. For his Master’s thesis at Lake Tanganyika (Zambia) he worked with ICRAF on an application of local indigenous knowledge in systematized solutions for sustainable projects. He has over 15 years of experience in agroforestry, including project management and coordination, forest inventories, monitoring of native species and classification of forest products in the Amazon. He has extensive experience in rural economics and sustainable development models, with international experience in remote and conflict areas. With vast knowledge in the development and application of local knowledge acquisition tools. He also led the research projects in the R&D section of Fazenda da Toca.
