Regeneration International
In June 2015, approximately 60 individuals from 21 countries—including representatives from businesses, farming and scientific communities, educational institutions, policymakers, and NGOs—gathered in Costa Rica to develop a blueprint for an international movement focused on combating global warming and ending world hunger. Their shared goal was to accelerate the global shift toward regenerative agriculture and land management practices. In January 2017, Regeneration International (RI) attained 501(c)(3) nonprofit status, and today it collaborates with over 500 international partners and a growing network of Regeneration Alliances across the United States, South Africa, India, Canada, Belize, Mexico, and Guatemala.
The organization’s mission is to promote, facilitate, and accelerate the worldwide transition to regenerative food, farming, and land-use systems aimed at restoring climate stability, eradicating hunger, and rebuilding damaged social, ecological, and economic structures. Their vision envisions a healthy and thriving global ecosystem where practitioners of regenerative land management, along with consumers, educators, business leaders, and policymakers, work together to cool the planet, feed the world, and restore public health, prosperity, and peace on a global scale.
