I am interested in listening to stories, in the music that is created by different people. I want to know more about heritage, and how the food that accompanies us at various different tables fosters the stories told, the heritage that we are so deeply connected to. Chinua Achebe’s A Man of the People took my hand as a 16 year old, and ever since then, I have been incredibly passionate about colonialism, structural & cultural hierarchies, indigenous ways of knowing, food sovereignty, environmental justice and trying to develop my understanding of these through listening, hearing, observing.
Growing up in Istanbul’s chaotic, nuanced and diverse world I found myself naturally drawn to trying to understand humanness and the holisticism that rests in this. I recently graduated from the University of Amsterdam with a degree in Honours BSc Political Science with specialisations in ethics of AI, Water Governance and Comparative Politics. I am analytical, curious, and always up for a challenge.
