Beyond Beans

Beyond Beans is the sustainability arm of the Export Trading Group (ETG), dedicated to improving the resilience and livelihoods of farmers while promoting environmental sustainability in commodity supply chains. By working closely with companies, NGOs, and government agencies, Beyond Beans develops and implements sustainability programs that create lasting benefits for people and nature.

Operating in key agricultural regions across Africa and Latin America, Beyond Beans focuses on transforming the cocoa, coffee, and cashew industries through a holistic approach. The organization integrates farmer support, landscape restoration, and supply chain innovation to ensure long-term impact. Their work has four key pillars:

• Farmer Livelihoods: Enhancing the income of smallholder farmers while working towards a living income model that secures a decent standard of living.
• Community Development: Strengthening local communities through initiatives such as Village Savings and Loan Associations (VSLAs) and partnerships with cooperatives and governments.
• Protecting Nature: Restoring landscapes, improving biodiversity, and mitigating climate risks through climate-smart agroforestry and supply chain monitoring.
• Innovation: Leveraging technology to drive positive change, including mobile applications that enhance transparency and farmer access to resources.
